A. Yes! Family Choice Home Care offers hourly services for in-home care for older adults. There are minimums of 4-hour shifts for the Lexington area and minimum 6-hour shifts for some rural areas. We offer competitive rates that are lower than all other home care agencies.

A. No! All services are provided by our caregivers for one low rate! There are no surprises and we do not charge more for bathing or more involved care.

A. Family Choice Home Care can assist seniors and other individuals in need with meal preparation, cooking, light cleaning, transportation for appointments, errands, daily hygiene, grooming tasks, medication assistance, and general supervision. Our services allow seniors to maintain their independence while accessing assistance when needed.

A. Although traditional health insurance does not cover home care services, long-term care insurance does provide benefits for Family Choice Home Care’s services. Our care managers will help you determine the details of your coverage so you can make the best choice for your care needs. We will provide all documentation required and can communicate with the Long Term Care Insurance Company directly to help navigate this process. 

A. In addition to long-term care insurance, some clients use their Veterans Benefits to receive assistance with our services. We also work with worker’s compensation insurance and some waiver programs. Call our care managers for more details.

Since Family Choice Care is owned by speech-language pathologists who specialize in geriatric conditions such as dementia, all clients have an individualized plan of care that provides engaging activities based on their stages of progression. Our team is qualified to help your loved one while preserving their dignity and independence.

A. There are many proven benefits to allowing adults to age in place in the comfort of their own homes. In-home care is more cost-effective and allows the person to maintain their freedom and participate in their chosen activities. Clients will get one-on-one care with in-home care, whereas in a facility, there will be one staff member for 20-plus residents.
